Brief Introduction of Shaanxi Normal University Education Group

In January, 2005, Shaanxi Normal University Education Group was established, which is supervised directly by Ministry of Education and sponsored by Shaanxi Normal University. With Shaanxi Normal University Press and Shaanxi Normal University Magazine as its core members, it is a comprehensive publishing organization, involving the publishing of books, magazines, audio & visual and electronic materials. Now, 80% of the Group members have a Bachelor’s degree or above.

The following is a brief introduction to its two core members.

Shaanxi Normal University Press was set up in 1985. In the past 20 years, the Press has already published varieties of books for about 3000, a lot of which have won provincial and ministerial level awards. It is also one of the ten university presses whose annual sale amount is over 1 billion.

The magazines of Teaching Reference of Middle-School were first published in 1972. Thirty-five years later, in 1985, Shaanxi Normal University Magazine was founded. Now it has 9 series of educational journals and 4 of them are national core journals, which made it the only large-scale magazine that is administrated directly by Ministry of Education.

Shaanxi Normal University Education Group aims to conform the publishing materials and develop intensively, and tries its best to be a core competing power with integration of books, magazines and network, interaction of products, service and research, and its own intellectual property, as well as an education publishing base and educational cultural media centre with international view, which is famous all over the country, and is the first class in western China.
